MANY MORE PICTURES BELOW THE DESCRIPTION Antique Thomas Mills Phila Candy Mold Machine Pat 1871 This auction is for a very hard to find Thomas Mills candy mold machine with extra molds. This was developed in 1871 by Thomas Mills and Brothers of Philadelphia, PA. It is a manual hand cranked machine of cast iron. It has interchangeable round cylindrical brass molds. I think this was used for taffy but not 100% sure. This was found in an old warehouse in Baltimore. You get the machine and three matched mold cylinder sets. One set is personalized for some candy store with the letters S & D. You also get six other brass cylinder molds that are singles. This is a view of the machine with one set of fish molds installed and two other matched mold sets. A closer view of the machine. The two larger screws at the top loosen and that top plate swivels to remove and replace the brass cylinder molds. The wood and metal crank handle is locked in place and works fine but there looks to be a nut missing from the threaded end. View from a different angle. Closer look at machine and brass cylinder mold. Marked on the lower edge. It stands out because we wet it. It has not been greased or oiled. Lower edge manufacturers mark continued. "Phila. T. Mills & Bro. PA" This is the markings on the other side. "Pat. Feb 14. 71" . Also above you can see the end of one mold is marked. This is the end of the lower brass fish mold. This is the marked end of the higher brass cylinder fish mold. Picture is blurry. Mark is crisp and clear. The number "1 & 2" are molded into the metal on one side. Another view. We have not attempted to clean this. There is no rust and no damage. View from another angle. This is another pair of matched molds that comes with it. Another pair of molds. Maybe chewing gum with the letters "S&D" stamped in it. A closer view. S&D These six brass molds are also included but none have a mate. You could probably use them with a flat roller as a mate or possibly they work with one of the other molds. Closer view of the single brass cylinder molds.. Shell, rectangle, acorns. Three more cylinder molds in brass. This is an auction style listing and high bidder will win regardless of price! Shipping in the U.S. is cheap at $40.00 This machine weighs 26 pounds and the molds weigh another 41 pounds. I know shipping looks high but the plan is to ship this in 3 different Large Flat Rate shipping boxes at $14+ each. Hence the $40 shipping charge. If the price comes in cheaper I will happily refund any difference. Also if you prefer to pick this up in White Marsh, MD 21162 there will be no shipping charges. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND IF YOUR NOT HAPPY FOR ANY REASON, DON'T GET MAD, DON'T GET EVEN, JUST GET IN TOUCH AND WE WILL WORK IT OUT Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool. On Apr-29-11 at 09:44:11 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a picture of the bottom. There are no signs of cracks or damage. That slots you use to mount it to a table top are undamaged. At each end of the brass rollers are spacers also made of brass. This prevents the brass rollers from wearing against the cast iron.
